Non-Tenured Faculty Promotions and Appointments

Drs. Erin Sullivan and Jan Smith have been appointed as members of the Standing Committee for Non-Tenured Faculty Promotions and Appointments (NTFPA) for a three-year term. They were elected by the Executive Committee of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPSOM).

The NTFPA is an active committee that performs critically important functions which are integral to how we govern ourselves and to how we set high standards for faculty performance through the mechanisms of promotion and appointment. Dr. Donald M. Yealy, Professor of Emergency Medicine, chairs this Committee. Membership is broad based and includes tenured and non-tenured associate professors and professors.

Service on a promotion committee is one of the most important duties performed on behalf of the faculty and in support of the School's mission. Every associate professor and professor has benefited from the efforts of those who have assumed the responsibility to serve on the promotion committee.
