Dr. Aparna Phadke's Abstract Chosen as “Best of Meeting Presentation by an Anesthesiology Trainee”

Dr. Aparna Phadke's abstract titled “Accidental Extubation during General Anesthesia in Pediatric Patients: Frequency, Cofactors, & Sequelae ” has been chosen as the best abstract from several hundred submitted to the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia - Winter Meeting (February 16-19, 2006) in Fort Myers, Florida. A committee selected the "Best of Meeting Presentation by an anesthesiology trainee" from three final abstracts after Dr. Phadke and the other finalistists delivered oral presentations on Saturday, February 18, 2006. Dr Phadke was honored with a certificate and a cash award.

Dr. Phadke is a Fellow in Pediatric Anesthesiology in the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh program. Her research study utilizes the division's CQI system to analyze 225,000 pediatric anesthetics performed at CHP since 1988. Drs. Susan Woelfel and Larry Borland are members of the project team.
