Your interest and response to the EMBA-MD program has made an impact. At our first two informational sessions, many of you inquired about the potential of extending the program for an additional term to reduce the required course credit hours per term in order to more easily accommodate your clinical responsibilities. Our colleagues at Katz have been very responsive and have agreed to extend the program so that students will take 6 credits per term, rather than 9 as originally planned. Thus, the program will run over seven terms, beginning in September 2008 with graduation in December 2010.
Since there will only be 6 credits per term, the class days will also be shorter so the Friday sessions could begin later in the day to allow for clinical rounding in the morning and/or clinic time.
Finally, for those of you who are eligible for the University of Pittsburgh tuition allowance, this will substantially reduce your out of pocket costs for the program (another plus).
For those of you who have already applied to the program, you need to do nothing at this time. The revised schedule will be available to you at the time of your program interview.
We cordially invite you to attend an information session to learn more about EMBA-MD. This short session will include a presentation about the EMBA-MD Program and is a great opportunity to hear more about the program and answer your questions. Remember also that the deadline for applications is June 30th.
