Message from Dr. David G. Metro, Residency Program Director
“I would like to announce another outstanding residency class that has matched into our program today. Out of 1107 applicants we were able to pick these 14 individuals. This class includes many exceptional candidates including five AOA (the medical school equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa) candidates and nine candidates with scores of 99 (highest possible) on their USMLE testing. Of note, I would like to mention that we matched with our first nine ranked candidates which is an extraordinary feat.
I would like to thank Dr. Patrick Forte, chair of the Recruitment and Selection Committee, all of our faculty and resident interviewers, Ms. Amy Wetmore and Ms. Julie Englert for helping to make this our most successful residency match that I can remember.”

Message from Dr. Michael P. Mangione, Medical Student Programs Director
“On the heels of Dave's great announcement I would like to share that 10/10 of our medical students applying to Anesthesiology programs were successful in the match this year.
Destinations include three students to UPMC, two students to the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, Case Western, Massachusetts general, University of Virginia, and UCLA.
In my memory these are perhaps the best overall results any group of our students has ever had and I would like to thank everyone involved with our students for the fantastic teaching, guidance and mentoring!” |
