Drs. Ryan Ball and Dennis Phillips announced as the Chief and Associate Chief Residents for 2010-2011
Congratulations to Drs. Ryan Ball and Dennis Phillips, recently announced as the Chief and Associate Chief Residents for 2010-2011.
Dr. Ryan Ball has been selected as Chief Resident. Dr. Ball is a soon to be CA-3 who came to us from the University of Kentucky where he earned AOA status in medical school and completed an internship year of an orthopedic surgery residency. Since joining our program, Ryan has presented at the ASA annual meeting and has written two book chapters for anesthesia textbooks. He has been actively involved this year as the junior chief with a focus on recruitment of residents for incoming classes.
Dr. Dennis Phillips will serve as the Associate Chief Resident. Dr. Phillips received his CRNA degree from the University of Pittsburgh and worked clinically within the department before going to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned his DO degree. Since joining our department, Dr. Phillips has presented at both the Pennsylvania Annual Resident Research Competition and Western Pennsylvania Society for Anesthesiologists Resident Research Competition. Dennis has been actively involved in the residency this year as a junior chief with a focus on the resident run journal club curriculum.
