Dr. Manuel C. Vallejo Jr. Receives Teaching Award at Spring 2011 Nurse Anesthesia Graduation Ceremony
Congratulations to Manuel C. Vallejo Jr. MD, DMD, Professor and Director of Obstetric Anesthesia, who was presented the Stephen C. Finestone Clinical Instructor of the Year Award by the University of Pittsburgh Nurse Anesthesia Program Spring 2011 graduating class. Dr. Vallejo received the award at the School of Nursing's graduation ceremony on April 30th, 2011. Spring 2011 SRNA graduate Kimberly Wysocki presented the award to Dr. Vallejo.
The graduating nurse anesthesia students annually select the recipient of this award from the many physician instructors throughout our clinical sites. The award was established in 1994 to honor Dr. Stephen Finestone's contributions to the education of nurse anesthetists and recognize the support of our physician faculty. Dr. Finestone was the Medical Director of the nurse anesthesia program from its early beginnings throughout the transition to the current program.
