Department Faculty and Residents to Participate in the 2011 ASA Meeting, October 15-19, 2011
Each year, a tremendous number of University of Pittsburgh/UPMC Department of Anesthesiology members participate in the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Annual Meeting. The 2011 meeting will be held from October 15-19, 2011 at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, IL. This year, 30 residents, three fellows, and over 40 faculty will deliver 125 presentations. Additionally, 12 faculty are currently serving on over 25 ASA committees. The department’s ASA Alumni Reception is scheduled for Sunday, October 16th from 6-9 pm at the Hilton Chicago, Continental Ballroom C, 720 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60605.
Additionally, the 8th Annual pre‐ASA Joint Meeting of OAPRS/SAGA (Orthopedic Anesthesia Pain & Rehabilitation Society & Society for the Advancement of Geriatric Anesthesia) will be held on October 14 at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile. Vice Chair of Clinical Research Jacques E. Chelly, MD, PhD, MBA will serve as the course director for the meeting and several department faculty will participate.
